Who Would Like to Make A Difference?

If you’re given a chance to make a difference in your life, in others, and in the world, would you take it? Each one of us is given the opportunity to make a difference in our own little ways but only a few heed this calling.

The world may seem like a big and scary place but every person has the power to create change. When we’re bombarded with so many issues, remember that change begins in small steps. So who would like to make a difference? Here’s how you can do it.

How can you make a difference?

Use skills for the better

We’re all gifted with skills and these can be used to make a difference in the world. If you’re good at writing, create messages that can motivate people. If you create excellent designs, make one that inspires others. And if you have great leadership skills, be the drive that moves your team to a better path.

Support local business

There’s no better time to support local businesses than now. Remember that by doing so, you are also supporting their craft, their families, and the people that work for them. You also become more aware of what your community has to offer.

Volunteer

When you volunteer, you get out of your usual routine and see the world from a different perspective. You encounter people who also want to make a difference and people who need your help. This makes you feel good, and you also impact the lives of others.

Common courtesy

Everybody’s dealing with something, we might not know what it is, but it pays to be always kind towards others. Sometimes by being kind, we remind others that people care about them and want to see them win, rather than dwell on their problems for too long.

Show up

Showing up creates a difference. People will see you as someone reliable and always willing to help. When you show up, you’re training yourself to be the person you’d want to become.

Smile

A positive outlook in life also creates a positive impact not only on ourselves but also on others. Smiling puts you in a better mood and can potentially influence your behaviour towards others.

The difference you want to see begins with you. In your own little ways or just by being you, you’re showing the world that change does not warrant grandiose actions or promises. If you really want to make a difference, look within yourself and see what you can improve on.
