Recently I’ve been sharing with you some quotes from a variety of different people who’s words I find inspiring and powerful. I only share a quote if it really stirs something within me.
I thought I’d go a step further, so every Sunday I’ll share with you more of the the things that are inspiring me during the week, which I hope in turn do the same for you. If you love them or find they do nothing for you let me know in the comments section or on The Inspired Man’s Facebook page.
1. Quote of the Week
A Book Which Inspires Me
“Jonathan Seagull discovered that boredom and fear and anger are the reasons that a gull’s life is so short, and with those gone from his thought, he lived a long fine life indeed.”
Jonathan Livingston Seagull, by Richard Bach is one of my all time favourites, which I picked up again for the first time in about 6 years. It is an enchanting, short story of a seagull who decides he wants to learn how to really fly, much to the dismay of his friends and peers who don’t understand his fascination with flight, so expel him for the group. It is a story about non conformity and much more. If you don’t want to buy the book you can watch this video, narrated by Richard Harris. The background music’s very dramatic but it’s still worth 45 minutes of your time.
3. A Person Who ‘s Inspiring Me
Matthew Silver’s an eccentric dude, a street performer in NYC who’s main costume is his underwear. His mission is to show people weird stuff that wakes them up. I think he’s brilliant, but get him or not, he speaks some wise words and will probably make you laugh.
